Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Lumi-nus (“we,” “us,” the “Service”) at lumi-nus.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Lumi-nus is

Lumi-nus is a language-learning app that combines spaced-repetition review with AI-generated example sentences and audio. Features and available languages may change or expand over time.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for activity that happens under your account.
• Sign-in is handled by our identity provider (Keycloak) — keep your credentials confidential and let us know if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Pricing

Lumi-nus is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we'll present their pricing and terms clearly before you're asked to pay anything, and these terms will be updated to include the billing terms that apply at that point.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights.
• Submit dictionary entries, images, or other content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise violates our content guidelines.
• Attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the images and dictionary entries you submit. By submitting them, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and process that content solely to operate and improve the Service. Dictionary entries you submit may be shown to other users as part of the shared dictionary.

6. Our content & third-party data

The Lumi-nus name, software, and design are owned by us or our licensors. Some dictionary and reference data is sourced from open, third-party datasets under their own licenses — see Licenses & Attribution. AI-generated example sentences and audio are produced automatically and, while we apply content-safety rules, may occasionally be imperfect.

7. Disclaimers

Lumi-nus is an early-stage product provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. We don't guarantee that generated content will always be error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumi-nus and its operators won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed], without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
